Q. Is acupuncture painful?

 

A. This depends on the point location and your sensitivity. The needles used in acupuncture are finer than a human hair and sometimes can produce a very slight pinch. Most sensations are caused by the effect of the needle on your system. This can range from nothing to a feeling of heaviness or pressure.

 

Q. Does my insurance cover this?

 

A. This depends upon your policy; some people get some reimbursement, most do not.  Health insurance was never designed to keep you healthy — it was designed to screen and treat disease with expensive tests, drugs and surgery. At Healing Touch, we require payment at the time of service and charges will be discussed before treatment is rendered.  We have found that when patients are accountable and vested in their care plan, they get better results.

Q. How long does it take to work?

 

A. Response rate is dependent upon the individual patient, the lifestyle and the condition being treated. Typically, symptoms disappear anywhere from 3 to 15 treatments. This puts you back to right where you were before you noticed the symptoms. To maintain optimum health and energy, most conditions require attention for a longer period of time.

 

Q. What do you treat?
A. Since the body's systems are being stimulated and balanced, a wide range of conditions can benefit from treatment. Any pain condition including musculo-skeletal problems, neurological problems, injuries, women's health, facelifts, stress reduction, asthma, allergies, colds and flu, difficult cases, wellness and overall health enhancement are just a few of the conditions that can be helped.
